Your Most Important Hero
You Are Your Most Important Hero
Study “The Hero with a Thousand Faces” by Joseph Campbell to understand traditional storytelling and to understand tricksters and other obstacles.
Read “Activate Your Brain” by Scott G. Halford and study the reptile, mammal and human section of the brain.
Research the difference between a “fixed” and “growth” mindset by reading “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” by Carol S. Dweck.
Learn to understand the difference between being a pleasure junkie and learning to experience true happiness as you read “The Hacking of the American Mind” by Robert H. Lustig, MD, MSL
Take proper control of your life and you will see that you are your most important hero. Study properly and trust the best experts. Learn to avoid experts that are tricksters and you will learn to identify the tricksters hiding in your brain. You can quickly learn how important it is to exercise the human section of your brain. You will learn that tricksters in the mammal section of your brain will take over if you let them. Chemicals in your brain can control you or you can learn to control them. You are your most important hero; you just have to give the human section of your brain a chance.
About four years ago I decided to either get back surgery or find some other way to get rid of the chronic, severe, back pain I suffered for many years. Thankfully, I decided to not take what SEEMED the easy way out. Surgery was suggested by one doctor and not by another. Thankfully, I used the human section of my brain to make the best decision.
After reading “I Want what she’s having, Now!” by Tora Cullip and Donna Richards, I started to focus on mindset, metabolism and motivation to loose weight. After I lost forty pounds, my back pain stopped. My mindset and motivation has kept all but ten of my lost pounds at bay. Most importantly, even gaining back ten pounds, I still have no back pain. Now, as I do research and apply my “growth” mindset to loose even more, I want to share things I learn along my journey.
